In search of my beads table

The other day, we purposely went to Ikea Alexandra to eat swedish meatballs look for my beads table. Although we did not manage to buy one, I took a picture of the table that I liked but i feel it's too small. And there's not much drawer or shelf to put my beads organizers. I want a stylish but functional one.

So, off we go for another search at our neighborhood furniture store. I was not able to take a picture, because we just looked through the brochure. Pretty much, they only have either computer table or study table. Looks like we will be scouring the streets for Singapore for this one perfect beads table!!!

Beads Etc.

Last Saturday, I went to Beads Etc. at The Heeren Orchard Road. It's located at the 4th floor, Unit 35. I seldom go to Heeren, because I frequently go to Ion Orchard, Takashimaya and now the newly-built 313 @ Somerset. But after last saturday's bead adventure, I think I will be there more often than I expect.

Just look at all these beads eye-candy! Although I did not get to take a picture of all parts because the sales lady keeps on staring at me while I take a picture. Hehehe. Nonetheless, I will still keep coming back to you. I might even consider taking up an intermediate class to sharpen by beads skills. Maybe in a few months...

Meanwhile, I bought a beads organizer and wiping cloth. I'm very proud of myself of being able to not hoard all the beads and findings I could find. Priorities!

Reorganizing my blog

I've been so busy at work these past few weeks. But when I go home and it's time to do some beadworks, it's like i'm transported to a whole new world! It instantly takes away all the stress I felt throughout entire day! Never fails to put a smile on my face.

From conceptualizing design, to choosing the beads and findings, to laying them out in the bead board, to stringing and making wire loop... and my favorite part is when I get to see my finished product! I feel like every creation is my baby. I feel so proud and anxious to show it to all of you.

That's why I decided to reorganize my blog, so that your viewing experience is much more enjoyable. Pictures will be up soon! Beading and blogging is not that easy, you really have to be patient. Plus you gotta love your beads.

Happy beading everyone!

Note : I'd like to share to you where I got this very pretty blogger template. Click here for more details.

Carolina's

I was very excited to do some beads shopping a week ago, because I went home for 3-days for the Chinese New Year holiday. Yes, I'm back into beads. And I love every minute of it.

Yesterday night, I finished the bead necklace that I have been working on for a few days, eventhough my hands still hurt from golf-driving earlier in the day. I can't wait to see the finished product, it's so pretty. Pictures will be posted soon... more on that in the next blog entry.

Exactly a week ago, I went to Carolina's Makati. I vaguely remember that it used to be in Glorietta 1 or is it Park Square. My mom told me that they are renovating Glorietta, and all the stores transferred to Glorietta 5 already. It is the newly built establishment across Rustan's. Not so impressive though, only four storeys of mostly familiar stores.

I went inside Carolina's and I was dissappointed with what I saw. I was expecting to see several rows of beads and a few more for the bead findings. But to my dismay, only one small row for bead findings, and I did not find what I was looking for, so that means I have to come back again anytime this year when my stock finishes up.

Who am I kidding, of course I wanted to come home. This time, I'm planning to go to Villalobos Street in front of Quiapo Church. Since I read somewhere in the internet that is where all the cheap bead shops are located. I used to go to Tabora, Divisoria a few years ago, the prices are reasonable, and they say it's even cheaper in Quiapo. Can't wait to go there!

Meanwhile, I will master the art of making a wrapped wire loop... No more pretty hands for me, I have the hands of a jewelry maker!!

How to make wire loop beaded bracelet

I spent my friday morning browsing thru several beads blogsite. I have mastered the art of surfing the net, blogging, chatting and doing a tiny bit of work at the same time. Hahaha.

I found this instructional video on how to make beautiful beaded bracelet, and thought i will try this at home later!

Oh i just need the end bars that can hold three strands of jewelry and gold beading wire, and clippers. I will surely spend all day in the beads shop!!! And all of my money! Someone stop me please…

Beads Love

It’s LOVE LOVE LOVE month, so you HAVE to do the things you love. Not just this month, but all year-round!

If you are my friend, you will most probably know that I do dabble on jewelry-making sometimes. I make beaded jewelries and give them to my family and friends as gifts. Even attempted to make it an online business years ago, but Singapore got in the way. Hehehe. I got busy adjusting to life abroad, so I have not paid much attention to it.

Now that everything seems to be running smoothly (hopefully), I have allocated 1 hour per day for my beads. This way, I can make a complete set (earrings, bracelet and necklace) of jewelries in 5 days. Yey!

Which reminds me, I have to list down the beading tools, supplies and findings that I needed to buy in Philippines. If I cannot go to divisoria due to lack of time, I will check out carolina’s in makati. Excited! I love beads shopping.
