Early Christmas Preparation : Handmade Things

I love handmade things! Very personal and heartfelt. As i was browsing through Etsy for fresh ideas, i remembered that i’ve always wanted to learn making handmade bags. From designing, buying the fabrics, sewing, beading etc. It excites me, thinking how many bag designs i could come up with! And to top it all of, i also super love bags! My secret dream career is to be a jewelry / bag designer… Ooooh it’s not secret anymore!

I’m surfing for easy to follow instructions on how to make a purse. More on that, on my next blog entry. Or maybe i’ll look for books in Kinokuniya. I’ll start small first, then if i manage to be good at it. I’ll try making big bags, which is definitely me. I’m a big bag person. I’d like to dump everything inside my bag, even if you have to scramble for your mobile phone or car keys each time. Hahaha.

You can customize each handmade bag according to the recipient and the occassion. For christmas gifts, you can try to find fabrics with shades of red, green, silver and gold. There are endless possibilities!

Wouldn’t it be nice if i could make bags and purse? Wish me luck guys! I don’t have the essentials yet, sewing machine, the fabrics, zippers, and all that. All i have is inspiration, imagination and determination! As if! hahaha. *Wink! *Wink!

Paper Market is Heaven!

Last Saturday, i went to Raffles City Shopping Center and i found this newly-opened scrapbooking store at the basement. Paper Market. I super love arts and crafts! Back in the Philippines, I used to make beaded jewelries. It makes me so giddy-happy! To bead again or not? Hmmm…

As i went inside, i feel like a child in a candy store! Everything is so drool-worthy, but it’s so expensive! Huhuhu. But still i could not resist going out without buying something, so i settled buying this letter stickers, small bubble gum wrapper greeting cards, blue green pens, and a birthday journal! I went home smiling from ear to ear!

Next time, i will check out another scrapbooking store in Orchard Central.
